Support

Write to info@archetipi-digitali.it. Include the Gone version, the macOS version, the Mac model and the steps to reproduce the problem. A sample photo is optional: use a copy with no confidential data.

Requirements and formats

Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 15 or later. Import: JPEG, PNG, HEIC and 8-bit SDR TIFF. Save a copy: PNG, JPEG and HEIC. Save keeps the source format among the supported ones. RAW and HDR/16-bit images are not supported.

Getting started

  1. Open a photo, paste it, drag a file into the window or onto the Dock, or use Share → Gone.
  2. Paint over the whole detail with the Brush or outline it with the Lasso. Remove selection subtracts the parts to keep.
  3. Adjust Method, Margin and Blending and press Erase.
  4. Check Before / after and use Undo/Redo if needed.
  5. Save a copy preserves the source file; Save explicitly overwrites it. Copy and Drag result bring the photo into other apps.

Trackpad and shortcuts

Two-finger scroll: brush size. Space + drag: move the photo. Pinch: zoom. ⌘O opens, ⌘S saves, ⇧⌘S saves a copy, ⌘C copies, ⌘Z undoes, ⇧⌘Z redoes, ⌘B compares and ⌘0 fits.

Halos, text and difficult backgrounds

Include in the selection the outlines, shadows and leftovers to remove. The margin extends the visible selection. For text on a uniform wall or canvas try Text on uniform background. Complex geometries may need the additional model, which remains experimental and can invent details. Results depend on the image and the selection.

Additional model

The download only happens after Download model: about 2.4 GB downloaded, 1.9 GB installed, 4.5 GB free during installation. After the download you work offline. The model is stored locally in Gone's support folder. If an error occurs, check the network and free space and try again; the base editor remains available.

Save is disabled

This is normal before an edit or when the image comes from the clipboard or from a temporary Share copy. Use Save a copy. If the open file changes outside Gone, Save is refused so as not to overwrite those changes: reopen the file or save a copy.

Share doesn't appear

Check macOS's Extensions/Sharing settings and enable Gone. The position of the entry depends on the system version. If you installed more than one build, choose the extension of the build you intend to use.

Privacy and local files

Photos are processed locally. Copy uses the clipboard; exports may retain original metadata. Privacy notice.
