Gone — privacy notice

Updated: 15 October 2026

1. Who runs Gone

Gone is developed by Archetipi Digitali s.r.l., VAT no. 05374590262. For privacy and support requests: info@archetipi-digitali.it. Operating address published on the company website: Via Lago di Lugano, 20, 36015 Schio (VI), Italy.

2. Photos and local editing

Gone reads the images you choose to open, paste, drag or share with the app. The photo, the selection and the result are processed on the Mac. They are not uploaded to the servers of Archetipi Digitali, Hugging Face or other artificial intelligence services. We do not use photos to train models.

The app does not require an account, does not include advertising or analytics SDKs and does not send a history of edits. The distribution build does not enable the local log used by development tools. Diagnostic or distribution services managed by the operating system and the App Store depend on your settings and on Apple's notices.

3. Memory, files and temporary copies

During the session Gone keeps in memory the original raster, the edited one and the patches needed for the history. Save a copy creates a new file; Save overwrites the open file only on your explicit action. Copy writes the result to the macOS clipboard, where it can be pasted into other apps. Dragging the result out creates a PNG copy in the chosen destination.

The Share extension creates a local copy in Gone's shared container. After a successful import the request's temporary folder is deleted; in case of interruption or crash, local copies may remain. Exported images and source files stay in the folders chosen by the user. Uninstalling the app does not guarantee removal of exported files or residual container data.

Exports may retain metadata from the original image, including EXIF or GPS coordinates when present and supported by the format. When you share a file with other apps or people, you also share the retained metadata. Gone does not currently offer a dedicated tool to remove it.

4. Optional model download

The base model is included and works offline. The model for complex backgrounds is downloaded only when you press Download model. The app requests a public archive over HTTPS from Hugging Face; the service may redirect the download to its own distribution infrastructure.

The hosting service receives the normal technical connection data, including IP address, date/time of the request and the client's HTTP information. It does not receive photos, masks, results or the names of your files. The request contains no credentials or persistent identifier added by Gone; the client uses an ephemeral session without cookies or credential storage. The provider's notice describes its logging and practices: Hugging Face Privacy Policy. For the terms that apply to technical data, retention periods and any international transfers, see the provider's notice. You can avoid this connection by using only the included base model.

The downloaded model is stored locally in the app's container. After installation no connection is needed to process photos. You can keep using the base model without downloading the optional one.

5. Website and support

The link to the company website opens the browser at your request; the notice of the visited site applies. If you write to support, Archetipi Digitali receives your email address and the content of the message and of the attachments you decide to send. Send only information needed for the request. We use this data to answer your request and provide support, within the scope of pre-contractual measures or of the requested service (art. 6.1.b GDPR); any legal obligations are based on art. 6.1.c GDPR. We keep communications for as long as needed to handle the request and any legal obligations or the protection of rights. Email service providers may process the data needed to deliver and store communications. For further information you can contact us or consult the company notice: company website privacy policy.

6. Choices and rights

You can use basic editing without the Internet, avoid the optional download and manage local files on your Mac. For the data processed by Archetipi Digitali in support you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection where applicable by writing to the contact above. You can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) or the competent authority. For data processed by the download provider, use the contacts and procedures in its notice.

7. Updates

This notice describes Gone 0.1.5. It will be updated in case of significant changes to features, hosting or data processing. Date: 15 October 2026.
